Rotary 'Evening of Musical Entertainment': young musical stars perform for charity

Following the success of similar concerts over the last seven years, the Auchterarder & District Rotary Club is holding an “Evening of Musical Entertainment” on Saturday November 20th at 7.00pm in the Auchterarder Parish Church. The 4 young soloists taking part have all excelled in this year’s and last year’s Rotary Young Musician Competition and include local Crieff lads Reuben McFarlane (trombone) and Noah Chalamanda (marimba). Liana Storey, an outstanding young pianist from Glasgow and Toluwani Idohu, a highly accomplished singer from Dundee will also feature. MOJO, a jazz band from Morrison’s Academy will play some popular jazz classics. The finale will be a guest performance from Poppy McGhee, an amazing young violinist who was runner up in the UK & Ireland final of the Rotary Competition in 2018 at the age of 12. There will be a wide variety of music with something for everyone. Proceeds from the Evening will be donated to The Amber Trust and other local charities. Tickets are priced at £17.50 (£10 for under 18’s) which includes wine at the interval (subject to Covid restrictions) and are available from Douglas Gilmour, 07779 592 078, or John Boyd, 07767 876 489,
