APC Community Garden

Would you like to grow your own veg’ but don’t have a garden?  Are you new to gardening and would like some help to learn?  Could you grow vegetables, or flowers to share with the community?  Looking for a new hobby that’s good for your physical and mental wellbeing?

If the answer to any of these questions is ‘yes,  ‘then we would like to hear from you. APC is planning a community garden to give individuals and families the space to get involved in growing vegetables and flowers with help and support when needed. We plan to start as soon as COVID19 restrictions allow.

To register your interest email communitygarden@auchterarderparish.org with your name and a contact telephone number and we will be in touch.

Volunteers
We are always looking for new volunteers to learn, share knowledge and help out, either doing the gardening, with maintenance or growing things for us at home. We would especially like a veg growing ‘mentor’ to give us advice throughout the year on when and what to plant to extend our harvest. If you know anyone that fits the bill, please get in touch.

Mini-allotments
Work is at last underway to improve the garden access from the road and facilitate our offer of mini-allotments to the community. We hope to have around 10 raised beds constructed by Mar, to offer individuals, families or groups, where they can grow their own produce. This mini-allotment strip is currently under a black membrane mulch to kill off the weeds ready for the beds to be laid. If you know of anyone who would be interested in having a raised bed (2.3m x 1.2m) then they should email us with their details.  communitygarden@auchterarderparish.org
