Meet The Team

Rev Dr Lynn McChlery
I moved to Auchterarder in May 2019 with my husband Stuart and Jura, our lively Labrador. We’re loving living in beautiful Perthshire and being part of a vibrant church family with all its quirks and challenges! I was a teacher and then a youth worker (with Scripture Union) before training for ministry and taking up my first charge in Eaglesham Church in 2005. I’m interested in vocation and how people listen to God, and I left Eaglesham for my PhD at Durham University on the subject of discernment. I love good coffee, chocolate, throwing sticks for the dog, and walking with people at all stages of their faith journey as we try to make sense of what it means to follow Jesus today. In short, I love being a minister.

Rev Ian Paton
As the Assistant Minister, my role is mainly one of visiting the older members of the congregation and those who live by themselves. This is part-time as I am retired, having ministered to parishes in Banchory, Glasgow, Jerusalem, Elie; and finally as Associate Minister at Dunfermline Abbey. I also lead some of the services at Auchterarder. It is a great pleasure to be a member and to be associated with the work of Auchterarder Parish Church, which is a very active and forward-looking congregation, with a huge choice of activities going on week by week. It certainly is not a ‘Sunday only’ place to be. I’m in the church at services almost every Sunday, so if you would like a call or a visit at any time just catch me and let me know.

Andrew Kennedy, Youth worker
I started in my role here at Auchterarder Parish Church in April 2021. My wife and I love being here in the town and going for walks. I moved here from Edinburgh where I worked for a year doing Samba Drumming with young people in Leith. I thoroughly enjoy my job, getting to know young people in the town, spending time with them and sharing life with them. I am very musical, and not too sporty though you may find me watching the NFL and keeping up with the Carolina Panthers. I think this is a fab church community and brilliant town to be in, I have just recently moved here so if you see me wandering around feel free to say hi.
