Session Clerk: Ruth Buchan
I'm Ruth Buchan, one of four children. We grew up in Dunblane and then moved to Norwich where I trained as a nurse. I later attended Paisley University where I gained a degree and became a Health Visitor.
My current role is supporting staff in the local NHS to improve and develop their services. I became an elder in the Church of Scotland in 1998 and came to live in the area in 2003 when I started to attend Auchterarder Parish Church.
I had the opportunity to attend the General Assembly as a Commissioner in 2013 which was an invaluable experience and in 2015 I became the Presbytery Elder for APC. Very recently I was appointed Session Clerk. My other interests include reading, visiting historical properties and gardens and spending time with my family.

Facilities Administrator: Mandy Blackadder
Hello, I'm Mandy Blackadder. I moved to Auchterarder in August 2016 and have been the administrator for the Community Church Centre since 2018. I was delighted to move here from Dubai where I was working as an air hostess at the time, with my husband and our firstborn.
Very soon after I arrived here in Auchterarder, I fell in love with the church and its congregation and soon became a member. I now have three small children who take up a lot of my time but when I’m not working for the Community Church Centre and looking after the family, I’m teaching Zumba.
I love reading, dancing and my family (to bits).

Cafe Manager: Gillian Burns
Hi, I’m Gillian and moved to the area in Sept 2024 and started at Auchterarder as the café manager later that year. Before moving here, I was a youth and school’s worker, as part of the local church and laterally, Scripture Union. I’m passionate about seeing the church engage with their local community to serve and reach the area they are a part of and love that we get to do that in the café.
For years I’ve cooked at various residential camps, church, and youth events and so the opportunity to combine that with my passion for church engaging with community in the form of a café was one that captured my interest. As well as working at Kirk Café I have another job in Crieff as part of a local charity.
I’m a member of Crieff Baptist church where my husband is the pastor and we live just outside Crieff with our two cats.
